The suspect ran from the crash, leading police on a foot chase.

Police allege that the suspect then fired a gun at officers. The officers returned fire, striking the suspect.

After the suspect was shot, police carried him to French Street, outside of the CelebrateErie area for easier ambulance access. The suspect was taken to UPMC Hamot and is in stable condition.

State Police are now leading the investigation. The mainstage at CelebrateErie is now closed as an active crime scene. The city is waiting for the mainstage to be released by state police, with shows scheduled to start on the mainstage at 5:30 p.m. today. The other events at CelebrateErie begin at 11 a.m. and are not expected to be impacted.
