RFK Jr. fights to keep ballot spot in Pennsylvania, asserts Democrats want to remove him

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. arrived in Harrisburg Tuesday to argue in Commonwealth court why he should stay on the Pennsylvania ballot, but he could not arrive on time.

He showed up late and was unable to speak in court. It is unclear who Kennedy Jr. would hurt more, Donald Trump or Kamala Harris, however he is asserting that Democrats are trying to remove him from the ballot.

“He was late through no fault of his own,” said RFK’s attorney Tim Ford. “We don’t control the we don’t control airlines.”

Kennedy Jr. blamed a canceled flight to Harrisburg for showing up an hour and a half late, however the judge chose to proceed without letting him speak.

“[We] very easily could have had an adjournment to allow us to get here and we could have presented our case in full,” Ford claimed. “And, we were not allowed to do that.”

The suit argues Kennedy Jr.’s petition paperwork listed New York as his home address, although he lives in California. A New York judge supported that argument last week. It also argues he did not submit enough signatures, a case their lawyer says is quite valid.

“If you follow the rules, you wouldn’t be in this position,” Ford continued. “So, you want to be on Pennsylvania’s ballot? You’ve got to follow Pennsylvania’s rules.”

But Kennedy Jr., whose last name resonates well with Democrats, blasts the lawsuits as “frivolous” and “anti-democratic.”

“The Democratic Party, in my opinion, ought to be winning elections by competing on the battlefield of the campaign, debating, giving interviews to all campaigns in democracies,” Kennedy Jr. said. “It is so sad for this party that the only way that it can win elections is to keep its opponents off the edge of the ballots and use lawfare to try to win elections.”

A judge must decide the fate of Kennedy Jr.’s ballot hopes quickly, as mail-in ballots need to be printed soon. Kennedy insists he will come out of this with a victory.

“I will be on the ballot in every state,” Kennedy Jr. said. “Will you run if you’re not? I will be.”

The judge will have to make a ruling soon, as ballots need to be finalized, printed, and sent out in the next several weeks.
