( WJET/WFXP )– The Steelers will be without one of their more notable free-agency acquisitions for the rest of the year.

New Steelers punter Cameron Johnston suffered a season-ending knee injury in the fourth quarter Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Johnston’s exact injury wasn’t specified and signed at three-year $9 million contract this past offseason.

Kicker Chris Boswell handled the team’s final punt of the day after Johnston’s injury and Brad Wing filled in last year when Pressley Harvin was injured.
