Erie, Pa ( WJET/WFXP ) — A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened back in July. This is the second juvenile to be charged in connection with this incident.

Gilbert Rogers was arrested Saturday afternoon and was subsequently arraigned that evening. According to arrest records, Rogers is being charged under the Fisher Bill, which means he will be charged as an adult. He is currently facing multiple charges including Criminal Attempt – Criminal Homicide, Aggravated Assault with Intent to Cause Severe Bodily Injury, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure.

Gilbert Rogers was originally being held at the Edmund L. Thomas Adolescent Center; however, he has since been transferred to the Erie County Prison. He is being held on a $250,000 cash bail.

Gilbert Rogers’ preliminary hearing is set to take place on October 30 at 9:30 a.m.

These charges are in connection with a July 21 incident on Erie’s Eastside where shots were allegedly fired at a group of people at a block party, leaving one person injured.

According to court documents, Erie Police arrested 17-year-old Ra’Mere Rogers just four days after the incident on July 25. Court documents state that he faces charges including Criminal Homicide (Editor’s Note: We have confirmed that the shooting was not fatal; however, current court documents show a Criminal Homicide charge) , Aggravated Assault with Intent to Cause Severe Bodily Injury, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, and Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure.

Ra’Mere was also charged under the Fisher Bill and was taken to Erie County Prison with a $250,000 cash bail. Court documents reveal that he was released from Erie County Prison, and his bail was changed to unsecured with electronic monitoring on August 7, 2024. His preliminary hearing was moved several times, with the most recent date set for October 11; however, the court documents do not reveal any details about the status of the most recent hearing.
