Kamala Harris rally in Erie continues to prove county’s importance during elections

The people JET 24/FOX 66 reporters spoke with prior to the rally talked about how important Erie is to the election and their reasons for being there.

“The race is tight. We’re coming to the end and we want to show our support and we want the world to hear the message.  We don’t want to go back. We want to go forward,” said Debbie Kanner, a Harris supporter.

“We have a family member who’s a Trump supporter who cut us off because we’re Democrats. That caused me to become politically active. That, and all the rhetoric from Trump,” said Becky Kessler, a Harris supporter.

Also gathering outside of the arena were protestors supporting former President Donald Trump, who hoped to have their voices heard.

The group reporters spoke with held signs saying “Democrats for Trump.”

One Erie native spoke about why he opposes Harris for president.

“She didn’t receive any votes when she ran for president against Joe Biden, and then she was basically installed to run against Trump. She has no policies, she’s avoiding the media just like Biden did, she will not, if she goes on the media, it’s only for friendly fire like the view,” said Jeff Harvey, an Erie native.
