A Popular Ann Arbor Coffee Shop is Expanding into Ypsilanti

Vertex Coffee Roasters , a beloved Ann Arbor coffee shop, posted on Instagram confirming a second location in Ypsilanti at 307 N River St . The operators have signed a lease for the space, which was previously occupied by Cultivate Coffee & Taphouse . The second Vertex Coffee location is anticipated in early spring.

The second location will take over a 21,700-square-foot, single-story commercial building on the lot with the capacity for indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a retail section to hold various Vertex merchandise. According to owner Kara Sato , the new location will serve all of Vertex’s iconic items, including its famous latte flight and various zero-proof mocktails. The menu will also carry gluten-free pastries and other food options. However, Vertex will not be serving any alcohol like Cultivate did.

“We are about sharing and committing to zero waste practices, ushering opportunities for creativity and the arts, providing space for public events, and bringing communities together alongside providing high quality coffee,” says the coffee shop’s website.

What Now Detroit reached out to Sato for comments but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage. While no specific opening date is available, the second Vertex is anticipated to open in early spring this year.
