Thunder over Michigan Air Show hits Willow Run this weekend: Tickets, times, events

Spots are quickly running out to see the U.S. military's top aircraft streak across southeast Michigan skies this weekend. Tickets for the the annual Thunder over Michigan Air Show are sold out for Saturday and limited tickets remain for Sunday.

The 2024 Thunder over Michigan Air Show will return to Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti on Saturday and Sunday. The annual event is presented by the Wayne County Airport Authority, with a variety of aircraft displays, rides and activities.

The air show will be held at the Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti.

When is the show?

The air show will run Saturday and Sunday, with gates open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

What aircraft will perform?

The air show will feature performances including:

• The U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demo Team.
• The U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Demo Team.
• Red Bull Aerobatics.
• America's famous fighters.

Event lineup

The air show will also include family-friendly activities, including:

• Kids zone play area.
• Kids exploration zone to learn about the science of flight.
• Aircraft ground displays.
• Rides with the Yankee Air Museum's historic airfcraft.

How much do tickets cost?

General admission tickets are $68 for ages 16 and above, and 15 and under enter free. Saturday is sold out and limited tickets remain for Sunday's show. Parking must be purchased separately, at $55 per vehicle.
