As the Coachella Valley Repertory Summer Cabaret Series comes to its conclusion the remaining acts are following in the wake of some pretty remarkable shows. Executive Artistic Director Adam Karsten with keen perception gave his theatre audiences a wide variety of Cabaret choices this year. For their joint CVRep debut the identical twin Cardia sisters, Julie and Jenna, combine contemporary singing, humor, and heartfelt stories. As identical twins, it is possible to see the slight physical differences between them. Separately and together they have created some fast-paced entertaining fun.
Some Fast-Food Restaurants in L.A. Charging Fees For Bags
Some fast-food restaurants in Los Angeles are now charging fees for bags. The fees have been noticed by McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A customers in recent months. The L.A. City Attorney’s Office says it’s perfectly legal. Last July, the 2013 bag ordinance that allows grocery stores to charge for bags was amended to also include restaurants.

Firefighters knock down vegetation fire at homeless encampment in Summerland
SUMMERLAND, Calif. - Firefighters knocked down a small vegetation fire that broke out Saturday morning at a homeless encampment along Highway 101 in Summerland. According to the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District, the fire was reported at 7:27 a.m. near the southbound exit at Lillie Avenue. Crews arrived on scene and found a fire measuring 30 by 30 feet at a cliffside homeless encampment overlooking the ocean.
