    Yukon church to host 'Comedy for Compassion,' taco bar to help Cardinal Point

    Yukon church will host comedy fundraiser

    A "Comedy for Compassion" fundraiser is set for Aug. 3 at Grace Church, 600 N Mustang Road in Yukon.

    OKC Improv will perform at the Episcopal house of worship to raise money for Cardinal Point, a family justice center that provides services and care for victims of domestic violence.

    Grace Church will be catering a taco bar for dinner beginning at 6 p.m. and the family friendly improv show will start at 7 p.m. Childcare is available for children 5 and younger.

    Several ticket levels are available for purchase to the event. Cost for the show is $10 for children and $15 for adults. Cost for dinner and the show is $15 for children and $25 for adults.

    Local minister tapped to lead Florida Southern Baptists

    An Oklahoma minister has been selected to lead a Southern Baptist organization in Florida.

    The Rev. Stephen Rummage, senior pastor of Quail Springs Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, has been elected to lead the Florida Baptist State Convention as executive director-treasurer.

    Rummage has been senior pastor of Quail Springs Baptist since 2019. He was elected to the Florida Baptist State Convention leadership post on July 18 by the Florida Baptist State Board of Missions. He will assume his new role effective Aug. 17.
