Hedwig Comes to the Grove
Davida Jones is a girl with many talents, and she was the perfect Homecoming Queen to have as the world was still emerging from the pandemic. On July 13, 2024, she took the stage at Cherry Grove Community House Theatre to deliver a rousing revival of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch,” much to the audience’s delight. Capturing all the drama, angst, and vivid imagery of the 2014 Tony Award-winning production, this performance was for one night only – but what a night it was. This production and many others this summer have been brought to you by the Arts Project of Cherry Grove. Bravo!
Children’s Book Exposes FBI Tactics Used During Civil Rights Era
Nationwide – Teenagers Autumn Kendall, 14, and Aurora Morgan, 15, are excited to announce the release of their children’s book, The Three Heroes, and their first book signing event in East Harlem, NY on June 4, 2024, at 6pm. The Three Heroes, developed under the 3E Program for Social Justice and Change, is a compelling tale featuring characters inspired by civil rights leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, and Chairman Fred Hampton. The story introduces a villain resembling J. Edgar Hoover, who led the FBI’s COINTELPRO operations aimed at undermining these activists. Though the characters are fictional, the book sheds light on historical events and the impact of COINTELPRO.

Bristow, OK (July 21, 2024) – A solid field of twenty-two entries made the trip to compete at Salina Highbanks Speedway. The night's three heat races would be won by Wout Hoffmans, Gage Laney, and Johnny Kent. With the lineup set for the night's main event, it would be Alex Sewell leading the first 9 laps before something went wrong in turns 1 and 2, ending in Sewell sliding off the top of the track. Couple sought after allegedly fleeing Council Grove drug incident scene arrested in Oklahoma
Two people wanted after allegedly leaving the scene of a drug crime in Council Grove and driving to Oklahoma to escape justice have been arrested. Meagann Mason and Colby Ross were arrested Sunday at an unspecified location in Oklahoma, according to Morris County Crime Stoppers. They could be extradited to face charges at a later time.
