Want to Keep Your Maine License Plate Number in 2025? Reserve It Now
In May of 2025, Maine's chickadee license plates will be replaced by a new design featuring a pine tree, inspired by the Maine flag used for eight years in the early 1900s. The design for the tree on the new plates looks more like an actual pine tree than a drawing by a child. That's just my opinion.

8 Shocking Maine Murders Guaranteed to Keep You Awake at Night
No one can really argue that, for the most part, Maine is a really safe place to live. No, I have not looked at the per capita crime rates, but the simple fact that Maine is so sparsely populated means we rarely hear about violent crime. However, it does occasionally...
Here’s When It’s Legal to Use Fireworks in Maine
It’s not hard to believe that, given how dangerous they can be, there are specific rules and regulations for using fireworks in our Pine Tree State. We understand why fireworks are so much fun. They're exciting, loud, and colorful—what’s not to love? It's not just the pyromaniacs in Maine who love them; almost everyone enjoys a good fireworks show.
The Sun Rises First in the U.S. in Maine, But Where?
As a new transplant to Maine, I am fascinated by everything of this astonishing state. When I heard that I had moved to an area in the country where I could hike to the point where the sun rises first in the entire United States, I started planning for that adventure immediately.

Um, What? Real Flamingo Found on Cape Cod in Massachusetts
You're probably giggling to yourself, because the obvious answer is NO. Flamingos are typically found in Florida and more tropical areas (the key word there was "typically"). For the first time in over 50 years, a flamingo has been spotted wading in the water off of Cape Cod in Dennis, Massachusetts.
Family Vacation in Maine? Check Out Our ‘Kids-Only’ Fishing Ponds
I've spent a good deal of my life with a rod and reel. I'm no pro by any means. In fact, I wouldn't even call myself an amateur. The bulk of my fishing experiences these days, is right off the end of my dock at camp. I'm generally too lazy to put a boat in the water, and I'm only prone to enjoying it for 30-45 minutes. But if it's camp season, I'll do it almost every single day.

WATCH: This Hawk Landed on My Front Lawn in Maine to Grab Lunch
Imagine my surprise when I looked out my front door's window and saw a hawk on my lawn, eyes locked on something in the freshly-mowed grass. The month of May was "No Mow May," when homeowners are encouraged not to mow their lawns to allow flowers to bloom and bees (and other pollinating insects) to do their thing. I hadn't planned on participating because my lawn grows fast, so instead, I had my own thing called "No Time to Mow in May."

Do You Know The 3 Oldest Towns in Maine?
I've been fortunate enough to have some downtime from the morning show on Q106.5 with Ms. Cindy to explore this extraordinary state. As a self-proclaimed history nerd, I was very happy to stumble upon the town of Castine. Just like anywhere else in Maine, the views were spectacular, and the town has a historic story just waiting to be discovered.

This Maine Natural Resource is Said to be Worth More Than $14 Billion!
Maine is the most beautiful and geographically diverse state in the country. That's not an opinion, that's a fact based off my 36 years of calling this beautiful place home. Maine is incredibly unique in that our largest industry is tourism, but the tourism season is relatively short compared to other states like Florida and Hawaii... you know, states where it's actually warm for more than 5 minutes out of the year.
Maine Homeowners Face $2 Million Fine for Poisoning Neighbor’s Trees
Neighbors can be a really weird thing. I feel like when I lived in apartments in my younger days, you had two kinds of neighbors... Ones that were cool and respected the other tenants around them, or the ones that were super entitled and acted like they were the only people that lived in the building. Never mind disputes over parking or anything like that.
3 Fisher-Price Adventure People Sets We All Wanted
You may have caught our recent nostalgic "rabbit hole dive" on some of our favorite Fisher-Price Little People sets. It seems we've struck a chord, as many of you responded with fond memories, saying things like, "Oh wow, those were the best!" and some of you likely headed to eBay to buy some for ... your nephew. That's it, your nephew. Yeah, that's the ticket.
