    Tri-Valley junior is recognized with state 4-H award

    COLUMBUS − Hayden Weck of Zanesville recently received the Food and Nutrition Achievement Award at the Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards presented at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus. The 16-year-old is a member of the Adamsville Renegades 4-H Club.

    He participates in a variety of projects, including cooking, STEM and leadership, for which he has won numerous awards at the Ohio State Fair. He also shows pygmy and dairy goats.

    Weck is a member of the Muskingum County Junior Leaders and Junior Fair Board, serves as a 4-H Ambassador and is a participant at State Leadership Camp and Citizenship Washington Focus. The junior at Tri-Valley High School is the son of Corbin and Adeline Weck.

    Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards are presented annually to individuals for outstanding work in their project area, with 29 youth recognized for 2024.

    Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, the outreach arm of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. In 2023, more than 156,000 Ohio youth participated in clubs, groups and special interest programs.
