The Zebulon Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to appoint Taiwo Jaiyeoba as Zebulon’s Interim Town Manager during an emergency called meeting June 4.

Interim Manager Jaiyeoba entered the role immediately after the appointment. Interim Manager Jaiyeoba currently serves as the Principal Consultant for City Development Advisors in Greensboro. This announcement follows the resignation of former Zebulon Town Manager Joe Moore at the June 3 Board of Commissioners Meeting.

“The Town of Zebulon is honored to have Taiwo Jaiyeoba serve as our Interim Town Manager and lead Zebulon through this critical transitionary period,” said Glenn York, Mayor of Zebulon. “Manager Moore helped guide Zebulon through unprecedented growth and change in our community and we’re grateful for the nearly nine years of service he dedicated to our Town. As we start the search for our next Town Manager, we’re confident in Interim Manager Jaiyeoba and his ability to navigate Zebulon’s key initiatives in the interim—the FY’25 Budget and the needs of our community. We welcome the experience, vision, and insight of Interim Manager Jaiyeoba and are excited to work together for the people of Zebulon.”

Interim Manager Jaiyeoba brings a wealth of professional experience and accomplishments to the role. He served as the City Manager for Greensboro, NC from February 2022 to February 2024, overseeing a roughly $800M budget, implementing unprecedented pay increases for Greensboro Police Officers and all employees, and fostering strong relationships with businesses, stakeholders, and citizens. Prior to his time in Greensboro, Interim Manager Jaiyeoba served as the Director of Planning and Assistant City Manager for Charlotte directing planning and transportation for the city while leading the city’s award-winning 20-year Comprehensive Land Use Plan.

“As I lead Zebulon during this transition, my priorities center on passing the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget, maintaining employee morale, and ensuring we’re making this a smooth and seamless process together,” said Taiwo Jaiyeoba, Interim Town Manager of Zebulon. “I will work diligently with the Board of Commissioners and Town staff to develop a budget that meets the needs of the Zebulon community and gives a strong start to the new fiscal year. Zebulon is a special place with a rich history and bright future, and I’m grateful to this Town for letting me be a part of it.”

Interim Manager Jaiyeoba was appointed to serve through July 1, at his request, with opportunities for the Board of Commissioners to extend the contract as needed. Interim Manager Jaiyeoba will oversee the transition as the Zebulon Board of Commissioners enters a search for the permanent Town Manager.
