Puppy rescue prompts pet care reminder
NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) (July 17, 2024) – The Tuscarawas County Pound staff is urging everyone to spay and neuter their pets after taking in three litters of inbred puppies. Facility and Adoption Specialist Beth Lewis says a stray pickup the Friday before last became a rescue operation after the overwhelmed owner agreed to surrender the 19 pups, their mothers, and an unneutered male dog.

NORTH CANTON − An owner of the new Papa Bear’s Italian Restaurant, still under construction at 305 Applegrove St. NW in North Canton, anticipates an Oct. 1 soft opening. Papa Bear’s Italian Restaurant has been a staple in Stark County since it first opened in 1986 on Belpar Street NW in Jackson Township. When it outgrew that spot, it relocated to Dressler Road in 1988.
