HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – Two teen boys were arrested in a dispute involving a knife at a high school in Suffolk County—and they’re among several students arrested or investigated on Long Island for security incidents during the first week of school.

In total, three students were arrested and a fourth is being investigated for crimes involving their schools, according to police.

The two teen boys were arrested Thursday after a dispute led to one of them bringing a knife to Sachem High School North in Lake Ronkonkoma, Suffolk County police said.

A 15-year-old boy brandished the knife at his bus stop, according to police. When he got off the bus at the school, he was met by staffers, who notified police.

The knife was recovered, and the teen was ultimately arrested on a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The other boy, also 15, was arrested too after police determined he had previously threatened the first boy in July. He faces a charge of second-degree aggravated harassment.

Both of them were released to the custody of their parents and will be arraigned later, police said.

Another 15-year-old boy from Lindenhurst was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly threatened to shoot people at Brennan High School in West Babylon.

The threat was made during an online chat involving students from the school, police said. It didn’t happen during school hours.

He was charged with making a threat of mass harm, a misdemeanor.

None of those arrested were identified by police since they’re minors.

In a third incident in Nassau County, the superintendent of Levittown Public Schools said a student brought a bullet to Jonas E. Salk Middle School this week.

The superintendent, Todd Winch, said in a message to parents that no weapon was brought to the school and that no threats were made. However, officials notified police, who are investigating.

The incidents came the same week that a 13-year-old boy allegedly shot and killed four people and wounded nine others at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, on Wednesday.
