Armed man removed from Upstate Church over the weekend

An Upstate Church says it had to get law enforcement involved when a man showed up to service armed with a gun. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office responded just after 1030 Sunday morning to a Church on Shaw Road in Woodruff.

A Deputy located the man inside the church and the man told the deputy he had a gun on him. The man who has not been identified was escorted out and was asked why he was there and why he was armed?

The incident report indicates that the church's pastor told deputies that the man brandished the gun outside and said he was going to "let it all out today".

The Sheriff's Office says the man was in legal possession of the gun. However, he was put on a trespass notice by the church.
