College football is more than just a sport; it’s a tradition, a Saturday ritual, and a source of endless excitement. The passion and energy of college football are unmatched. Now, there’s some exciting news for Big Ten fans to celebrate!

The Big Ten Championship Game will stay at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis through 2028. Commissioner Tony Petitti announced this during his opening remarks at Big Ten Media Days. The current contract was set to expire in 2024, making this extension significant.

The Big Ten recently expanded to include Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Washington, starting in 2024. Petitti mentioned that while the game will stay in Indianapolis for the next four years, the Big Ten is open to considering other locations in the future to reflect its broader reach.

Since its beginning in 2011, the Big Ten Championship Game has been held at Lucas Oil Stadium. Originally, the winners of the East and West Divisions competed for the title. Starting in 2024, the Big Ten will no longer use the divisional format. Instead, the top two teams in the overall standings will compete for the championship.

Ohio State is a strong favorite to win the conference, aiming for their first title since 2020. Oregon is also a popular pick to compete in the championship game. CBS will broadcast the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game live from Lucas Oil Stadium on December 7.

Tickets will go on sale in the late summer/early fall of 2024 for the 2024 game.
