Don't get me wrong, I love the Las Vegas Strip. The lights, people watching and the action, but there comes a time when you feel a little over stimulated. Let's have some fun but let's tone down the noise.

We wrote an article about Best Day Trips from Las Vegas to explore and experience some of the most amazing natural wonders of Nevada and southern Utah.

The Best Day Trips from Las Vegas

However, if you just want a change of scenery but don't want to stray too far from the strip, here are some fun things to do that will give you some variety of what Las Vegas has to offer. If you don't have a car, these are places that an uber or taxi can easily get you to. You may not have known some of these existed, so hopefully you get to experience something new!

    1. Las Vegas Pinball Museum

I love pinball. I could play for hours, but it is expensive to play because I am not very good and it is always like $1-$3 to play. It doesn't matter because I enjoy it. At the museum you can see old pin ball machines and play at some. You have to love pinball because that is all that is here. So if you are looking for Area 51 or Mario Cart you will not find it here.

Free to enter but pay to play.

    2. Clark County Shooting Complex

This complex is awesome! It is huge. Our favorite thing to do is the sporting courses. It's like golf for shot guns. You can even rent a golf cart. They also have skeet and trap.

You will need to rent shot guns and then pay to do what you want.

    3. Mob Museum

Multiple exhibits, interactive and viewing exhibits for all ages. See crime labs, hear stories and see pictures of the old mob ways. The history and stories are pretty amazing to see and read. It seems unreal.

There is a fee to enter.

    4. Area 15

We just learned of this area this year! I am not sure how we didn't know about it but it is a good place for the family or adults looking for some fun. So, this place may not match with the getting to a place with less noise because the moment you walk in there it feels like a rave. Loud house music and neon lights. But it was so FUN! There is an arcade, axe throwing, candy shop, museum, bar, restaurant, brain test and Omega Mart (an interactive grocery store).

This area is free to enter but there is a cost to the attractions inside.

    5. Spring Mountain Road

Spring Mountain Road is known as China Town but it is actually Asia Town. There is Korean BBQ, Sushi, Shabu Shabu, Thai, Vietnamese, Pho, Ramen, etc. The list goes on and there are places that are affordable to quite expensive but you have the choice. Our favorite places to find on Spring Mountain are a good Ramen place and Korean BBQ. Hobak is our favorite higher end Korean BBQ and Hanu is our favorite AYCE.

Free to drive the road but of course, pay to play (eat).

    6. Fremont Street

It's a little freakier and a lot louder! This short strip, also known as downtown Las Vegas is always fun. The lights at night are amazing. As of late, there has been more security to get into the casinos. I am not sure why. On a weekend they are crazy busy. They used to have cheaper tables than the strip and so it made it a very popular place to go gamble.

    7. The Arts District

During the summer this is where First Friday is and you can experience this fun block party if you can find a parking spot. During the winter there are fun coffe shops and restaurants, along with some retro stores and just a fun area to walk aroud.
