The New Jersey Forest Fire Service battled a wildfire off Route 72 in Woodland Township, Burlington County on Monday.

Chopper 6 was above the blaze near mile marker 10.5. Large clouds of smoke could be seen billowing from the trees.

Authorities say Route 72 Westbound was temporarily closed at mile marker 10.5 due to the flames. It was reopened in both directions at approximately 6 p.m.

Fortunately, officials said rainfall from an afternoon thunderstorm helped crews contain the blaze.

No structures were threatened and authorities estimated the fire to be about 30 acres in size.

Residents have been asked to avoid the area.
