Larry Mendte Talks Congestion Pricing On "The WOR Saturday Morning Show"

Larry Mendte will talk with Ben Brachfeld from AM New York about the latest on congestion pricing on "The WOR Saturday Morning Show."

Congestion pricing had been scheduled to begin at the end of June, but Governor Kathy Hochul put it on hold because of the burden that it would place on New Yorkers and businesses. There are now reports that a compromise could be in the worlds that would allow congestion pricing to move forward with a toll less than the $15 initially agreed to. There could also be exemptions for municipal workers.

Congestion pricing was deeply unpopular among New Yorkers. However, the decision by Hochul to hit the brakes on the plan has also resulted in protests because of the estimated $1 billion in lost revenue it will cost the MTA every year.
