Starkey is depressed: We're one game in and the NFL season is over

It’s what Steelers fans have been waiting for since January, a new football season!

Another chance at a seventh Super Bowl championship for the franchise.

    Hope is renewed!

Unless you’re Joe Starkey. He’s depressed.

After watching last night’s NFL kickoff between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, Starkey has released this NFL season is already “fruitless” for 31 other teams.

“If Patrick Mahomes is healthy, the Chiefs are going to win the Super Bowl again,” said Starkey. That would be three-straight championships for the team that everyone outside of Kansas City is getting really tired of.

Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelce and yes, Taylor Swift and all of the shots of her during the game.

“I’m sick of them, one game in!” added Starkey. “I can’t help but think the entire season is already over with 271 regular season games and the playoffs left, the Chiefs have already won the Super Bowl it feels like.”

Of course, he is overstating it a little bit, but it can feel like an exercise in futility.

The Steelers have a quarterback questions with Russell Wilson’s calf and Justin Fields waiting in the wings.

Starkey says it’s like watching the Steelers in the 70s or the Patriots two separate times this century. If you’re not a fan of the dominant team, it can be depressing.

“You get sick and tired of watching the same team over and over and over again, it’s boring,” said Starkey.

He admits its fun to watch Mahomes play and be great, but he’s sick of it and we’re only one game in.
