Local Restaurant Closes Abruptly, No Reasons Given

For one reason or another, some restaurants decided to close abruptly, giving patrons little to no opportunity to visit the establishment before the restaurant shuts down. Some might offer a post about an imminent closure, while others simply disappear into the night, without a word as to why it decided to close. It can be difficult for fans of the food because there’s no information given and they are left wondering what went wrong (or why the business pulled the plug so abruptly). One Phoenix-area restaurant offered a day-of posting on its Facebook page, announcing it would close at the end of the day, giving long-time patrons next to no time to stop by one last time.

For the last several years, Sushi Ramen Go has been serving up a combination of sushi rolls and ramen dishes (as well as a number of other options on the menu) to hungry patrons. It developed a loyal following once it opened at 1495 South Highley Road (Suite 104) in Gilbert. And yet, the restaurant decided it was time to close.

On June 29, the restaurant abruptly posted on its Facebook page (it has an Instagram account too, but it rarely updates the page, and the last post was from several years ago) that it wanted to thank everyone for stopping by over the years, but that June 29 would be the final day of operation and that it would close down for good at the end of the business day.

The post was short and to the point. It did not provide any additional information or reasoning as to why the restaurant decided to close. There were over a dozen comments on the post, stating how sad it was the restaurant would be closing so quickly, and that they wouldn’t have another chance to stop by. The restaurant did not respond to any of the comments.

When restaurants close close to the end of the month, there is usually some kind of rent situation. Either the restaurant does not want to pay another month of rent (after all, why close in the middle of the month when the entirety of the month was already paid for) or the end of the lease was approaching. Regardless, there isn’t any information to go on, and now Gilbert has one less sushi and ramen restaurant to go to. Thankfully though, there are still other options to choose from.
