Buckman Bridge Traffic Alert: Police Investigation and Major Car Accident Causes Lane Closures

The Buckman Bridge in Jacksonville is well known for its traffic backups while crossing over the St. Johns River. Drivers take heed today as DOT will be closing down lanes on the Buckman Bridge as part of a Police investigation.

Florida Highway Patrol will shut down two outside northbound lanes and then proceed to shut down two inside northbound lanes. Expect ongoing and lengthy traffic backups and delays during this investigation. It is advised to take an alternate route if possible.

12:00 pm Update: According to FL511.com traffic alerts there was also a Major multi-car Accident on the Buckman Bridge around 11:30 am closing three lanes of traffic. Not a good day for the Buckman Bridge commuters. Be sure to check the traffic alerts and find alternate routes until traffic is cleared.

The Buckman Bridge spans 16,300 feet across the St. Johns River and is the main connector route from Orange Park to Mandarin and surrounding Jacksonville areas.
