BURNSVILLE, MINNESOTA—A two-vehicle crash occurred late Thursday night at the intersection of Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue, resulting in the arrest of a driver on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI). The incident happened around 10:30 PM on July 18, 2024, and road closures surrounding the crash scene were in effect for investigation and clean-up.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, troopers were dispatched to the crash scene involving an F150 truck and a Ford Explorer. The 34-year-old male driver of the F150 was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. We are still working to confirm any injuries due to the crash, but records from the Burnsville Police Department indicate there might have been a female in the Ford Explorer who may have sustained injuries to her head and hand. However, the extent of her injuries isn’t currently unknown.

The Burnsville Police, Burnsville Fire Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the emergency. In addition, MnDOT FIRST responded to help with traffic control. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
