Red Flag Warning Issued for Southern Oregon and Northern California

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Medford, Oregon, has issued a Red Flag Warning for parts of Southern Oregon and Northern California, in effect from 2 PM to 8 PM PDT today, July 26, 2024. This alert warns of critical fire weather conditions due to strong gusty winds and low relative humidity.

• Southeastern portions of Fire Weather Zone 624 and southern parts of Fire Weather Zone 625 in Oregon.
• Portions of north-central Fire Weather Zone 285 in California.

Weather Conditions:

• Winds from the west at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph.
• Humidity levels are expected to drop between 7% and 13%.

These conditions significantly increase the risk of wildfire ignition and spread. The NWS advises against any outdoor burning and urges residents to follow all local fire restrictions.
