    Excessive Heat Warning Issued for St. Louis Area and Surrounding Counties

    St. Louis, MO — The National Weather Service (NWS) in St. Louis has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the St. Louis metropolitan area and surrounding counties, effective from 1 PM Monday through 7 PM Thursday. The warning includes Jefferson, St. Charles, St. Louis City, and St. Louis Counties in Missouri, as well as Madison, Monroe, and St. Clair Counties in Illinois.

    Residents are advised to prepare for dangerously hot conditions, with heat index values expected to reach up to 112 degrees. This extreme heat can significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses, especially for those without access to air conditioning or those working outdoors.

    The NWS urges residents to take necessary precautions during this period of intense heat. These include:

    • Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
