CBS Sports names Steelers 'Offensive Triplets' one of the worst units in the entire league

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a remodeled offense heading into 2024.

It features new QBs, linemen, and the man calling the shots, OC Arthur Smith.

But they also return two players that headline their respective skill positions with Najee Harris and George Pickens.

According to CBS Sports , however, when you include Russell Wilson into that duo, they form one of the worst sets of triplets in the league.

Steelers Big Three is no good?

Our panel is, once again, not inspired by Russell Wilson -- or by the Steelers' triplets. Harris is likely to remain the lead back due to inertia and financial investment, but he has been outplayed by Jaylen Warren in each of their Warren's two seasons. Pickens has a ton of talent, but we also haven't seen him totally tap into it just yet, so it's hard to say he should carry this ranking. - Jared Dubin, CBS Sports

The Steelers ranked 26th in CBS' list of offensive triplets. Down four spots from last year, the drop seemingly suggests that CBS like nearly everyone else was higher on Kenny Pickett heading into 2023 than they are Russell Wilson heading into 2024.

And there is cause for concern with Wilson, as he hasn't played at the level he became famous for in over three seasons at this point. But as far as George Pickens and Najee Harris, I'm not sure why they received such a low rating.

All Harris has done is total over 1000 yards every season and prove to be one of the most durable players at his position, and Pickens netted over 1100 yards and led the league in average yards per catch at the ripe old age of 22 but I digress. Pickens has former scouts who believe he can contend for NFL records , and other former scouts who think he is best suited as a Robin to someone's Batman , so he's polarizing.

But the three teams directly in front of Pittsburgh in the rankings may have you scratching your head. The Commander's trio of Jayden Daniels, Austin Ekeler, and Terry McLaurin, the Saints trio of Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, and Chris Olave, and the Chargers trio of Justin Herbert, Gus Edwards, and Josh Palmer all surpassed Pittsburgh.

I would say Pittsburgh could argue that at least two of their three are better than two-thirds on every one of those teams.
