The New York Jets didn't have a good season in 2023, but the projections for 2024 are still high. With quarterback Aaron Rodgers healthy again , additions to the offensive line, and a defense that played at an elite level under Robert Saleh , the team can be a real contender.

A to Z Sports' film room analyst James Foster goes to tape on this video to show, group by group, why the Jets have the best roster in the entire NFL.

Foster mentions how the Jets had important role players executing well last season, despite the collective failures, and the overall talent level on the team.

"You can't overstate how much of an upgrade it is going from Zach Wilson, Trevor Siemian, and Tim Boyle to Aaron Rodgers," Foster said. He argues the quarterback room prevented the offense from functioning. The question he presents is which version of Rodgers the Jets will get, but even considering a slight regression from the last time we saw him play, it's still enough for a deep playoff run.

The analyst projects that the Jets' offensive line might be the most improved unit in the league with the additions of Tyron Smith, Morgan Moses, and Olu Fashanu at tackle, plus John Simpson at guard. Foster also remembers that Alijah Vera-Tucker can be seen as an addition, since he missed significant time in 2023 because of injury.

The big offensive question is how healthy the roster will be, since Rodgers, Smith, and wide receiver Mike Williams have handled injuries lately.

Despite all that, defense is still the strongest unit. According to Foster, every position outside of safety (the least valuable) is in the top 13. The defensive front has power to disrupt, and the secondary has the ability to shut down opposing receivers.

It will be a highly important season for the Jets, based on how much is at stake. But the roster does have the talent necessary to meet expectations and compete in a loaded AFC.
