The last few days have been intense for Green Bay Packers fans following the team's training camp practices. One day after Christian Watson hurt his knee, Jordan Love stretched out his left leg after a team period when he got knocked to the ground.

Packers VP of player health and performance Bryan Engel looked at the situation. After all, Jordan Love went back to the huddle to finish practice — there weren't any snaps left.

After practice, Jordan Love was jogging, indicating a really minor issue.

It seems like the Packers dodged two bullets this week. On Wednesday, Christian Watson only took a hit to the knee, but was fine after practice and participated normally in Thursday's activity.

    Preseason

Considering Jordan Love is really ok after the slightly scary moment, the quarterback will play the Packers preseason opener on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns. The team doesn't have new practices this week before the game in Ohio.

Right tackle Zach Tom won't play, and running back Josh Jacobs isn't expected to be on the field either — head coach Matt LaFleur hasn't confirmed it yet, but he mentioned that we might not see Jacobs in the preseason while he's slowly coming back from a calf issue. Rookie right guard Jordan Morgan won't play because of a shoulder injury. Other than that, the Packers might have their full offensive roster at disposal to play.

Matt LaFleur knows there is a risk playing starter in preseason games. But based on what he saw in his first few seasons as a head coach, he determined it has value to start the regular season better prepared.

"Just going through, re-evaluating the last couple of years, when we've had guys not play, and last year having all the guys play, I thought it was beneficial for us early on, especially Week 1, just knocking the rust off," Matt LaFleur said. "There's a lot of value in going through and getting your mind right to play a football game. Obviously, we're going to be smart with those guys."

The Packers will have three preseason games , at the Cleveland Browns, at the Denver Broncos, and versus the Baltimore Ravens.

Last year had different circumstances, because Jordan Love had never been a full-time starter. So, the snaps were even more meaningful. The quarterback threw 10 passes against the Cincinnati Bengals, eight against the New England Patriots, and 15 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Packers will play their last preseason game on August 24. Then, they have a bye week before traveling to Brazil to open the regular season on September 6, against the Philadelphia Eagles.
