The on-field debut of the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason is one of hte more exciting ones in recent memory due to the selection of quarterback J.J. McCarthy at 10th overall. Because of that fact, more eyeballs will be on the game than your standard preseason game.

Not only will McCarthy be a focus , but the defense will be intriguing with rookies Dallas Turner and Levin Drake Rodriguez on the defensive front. The Vikings are one of the more intriguing teams in the National Football League and it starts on Saturday.

Right now, we don't know how much the Vikings will play any of their starters. It would behoove them to play the offense for a series or two so quarterback Sam Darnold can get an opportunity to get his bearings underneath him. While he's technically in a quarterback competition with McCarthy, it's not the same as it is in Las Vegas.

The Raiders are expected to play both Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew around a quarter apiece. That is a true competition, one of the only ones in the National Football League. How they play will be one of the biggest storylines in the game.

Vikings football is nearly back people.
