The wins keep coming for the Ohio State Buckeyes program this offseason. After head coach Ryan Day built a tremendous transfer portal haul and retained the majority of draft-eligible talent, he's restored faith amongst fans and boosters that he'll continue to be the right man for the program. The latest 2025 recruiting ranking update from ESPN also bodes well for Day.

The Buckeyes land No. 1 on ESPN's newest top 25 list. While Auburn and Tennessee have taken big jumps up, the Buckeyes still sit No. 1 with a whopping 16 commitments within their top 300 prospects. Let's look at what ESPN had to say.

Ohio State Buckeyes 2025 Recruiting Class Ranking

Here's what ESPN recruiting expert Craig Haubert said about the Buckeyes' 2025 class thus far:

The Buckeyes missed the College Football Playoff last season, but they're signaling a return to the national title mix soon. They signed a top-five class and have made headlines with impactful transfer portal additions in 2024. While those efforts are exciting, OSU is also enjoying great success with its 2025 class.

Defensively, the Buckeyes have commitments from a pair of five-star cornerback prospects in Offord and Devin Sanchez. Offord is a versatile high school player who projects to defense with outstanding quickness and an aggressive style of play. The 6-foot-2 Sanchez has coveted length. He also has the speed and suddenness to match up with a variety of receivers. Sanchez could be in the mold of current Buckeyes standout corner Denzel Burke.

After bringing in two of the top 2024 quarterbacks in Julian Sayin and Air Noland, Ohio State continues to add more talent to that position room in St. Clair. He's an in-state prospect with physical tools to develop -- his mobility and arm strength. St. Clair has been very productive at Bellefontaine High School, throwing for nearly 6,000 yards the past two seasons while displaying consistency and completing roughly 70% of his passes.

Alabama, LSU, and Georgia are unsurprisingly trailing the Buckeyes with a heavy dosage of ESPN 300 commitments. Then, Auburn, Oregon, Texas A&M, Miami, Tennessee, and Notre Dame round out the top 10.
