Minnesota Vikings make shocking trade with Dallas Cowboys, swap disappointing NFL Draft picks

The Minnesota Vikings have made a trade to help potentially improve their cornerback room. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Vikings have traded cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys for cornerback Nahshon Wright.

Booth never quite got in a good rhythm with the Vikings. Having been the 42nd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, injuries plagued him early on and a scheme change did him no favors going into his second season.

In his two seasons, Booth played in 23 total games with two starts accounting for 20 tackles and one pass defended. He goes to a great landing spot with the Cowboys where he will get to work with former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer.

Wright is an intriguing player. He was a third-round pick of the Cowboys in 2021 but was viewed as a massive reach, as he was ranked outside of the top 300 on the consensus board. He is 6-4 and 185 lbs with relatively poor athletic scores.

Wright hasn't played much for the Cowboys over his three seasons but has appeared in 32 games with three starts, 37 tackles and one interception. It's essentially a draft bust swap with the hopes of being able to jump start their careers with a new home.

Fun fact about Wright: his cousin is current Vikings cornerback Mekhi Blackmon.
