As expected, the Minnesota Vikings sent out quarterback J.J. McCarthy to start the second half. He was up and down during the first half and showed that he was a rookie.

That's completely fine for a first performance in the National Football League. Every play is a learning opportunity. There will be plenty of things to learn from his first game, but there was also a lot to celebrate.

The third quarter was good for the Vikings and McCarthy. At the Raiders 45 yard line, the Vikings sent Jackson on a vertical route and McCarthy hit him with ease for a touchdown.

Jackson had a subtitle move to create that extra bit of separation to make the throw so easy for McCarthy. The touchdown put the Vikings within a score of the Raiders at 20-14 and it's the first of many exciting plays from the quarterback of the future.
