Raiders defender is already proving NFL's international program is a massive help

The Las Vegas Raiders are taking advantage of one of the few rules that the casual fan may not know about . There is this program that allows the Raiders to carry one player over the official roster limit, and the Raiders have done that all offseason and it helped them on Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings.

The International Pathway Program is a way to get international players into the NFL and allow them to develop into something that could be of use to teams in the league. Here's the kicker, though -- that player does not count against the 90-man roster or even the 53-man roster. And, if they don't make the roster, that's fine, because that player also doesn't count toward the 16-player practice squad.

The Raiders IPP player is second-year defensive lineman David Agoha, who was signed to the team under the old regime, but this regime saw enough with him that they wanted to keep him around. Agoha has shown massive developments over the year and had a pretty decent training camp.

He actually ended up making quite the play on Saturday, too.

During the Raiders' dominant first half against the Vikings , their special teams unit started to dominate, and that was the defensive side and offensive side of special teams. Agoha played the defensive line on the field goal block and actually blocked that field goal.

Now, Agoha made some other solid plays like filling some gaps in the run game, but nothing crazy. But sometimes it's just about doing what you're supposed to do, and not necessarily extra or flashy plays. Agoha is making his way up the ranks, and if he continues to have a preseason like this, we could see him as a depth piece very soon.

For now, though, let's praise that field goal block.
