Las Vegas Raiders' developing defender made one of the biggest and best plays vs. the Vikings

It's no secret that one of the most talked about, non-QB, non-star players on the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason was second-year cornerback Jakorian Bennett, who didn't have the loud, elite season last year that the entire fan base wanted from him. But, as a rookie, that isn't always going to happen. In fact, doesn't happen more than it does.

Bennett played fine last year. let's stop this "he had a disappointing season last year," talk. He played fine. He wasn't amazing, but he wasn't terrible. He was a rookie, which is probably the best way to describe it, and that's what Jack Jones and Nate Hobbs let everyone know, too.

"I don't like how the media, even some of you guys, y'all attack JB, and I'm going to say right now that JB's going to be pivotal for us," Hobbs recently said at training camp. "And I really don't want to see you guys attacking him like you are."

Hobbs said that because he knows Bennett is good, and will be a great player. It doesn't come immediately.

With their first preseason game of the year against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday, the Raiders put Bennett out there as CB2, opposite of Jack Jones. While the Vikings' offense ended up driving down the field pretty easily on the first drive, Bennett still made one of the biggest plays of the game on that drive, against the Vikings' starters.

The Vikings got into a fourth-down situation with two yards to go for a touchdown, and they went for it instead of kicking the field goal and getting the three points, That's what they should have done because after going for it, the Raiders broke the pass up.

That play was made by none other than second-year player Jakorian Bennett, as he swatted a pass away that very well would have been a touchdown.
