Raiders' Aidan O'Connell is just glad he doesn't have to go against the best defense in the NFL everyday anymore

The Las Vegas Raiders finally got to play someone not wearing Silver and Black. The last month and even more, all they have been doing is playing each other in practice. That can get tiring, and eventually, you start to pester one another and get under each other's skin. That's normal.

The Raiders played their first preseason game of the year against the Minnesota Vikings, which is a good team to see where they stand with their starters and depth. The first and second stringers were great, and even went up 20-7 after the first half , with big plays coming in bunches on both sides of the ball.

But the second half wasn't as good, as it was pretty much the opposite of what happened, where the Vikings ended up making the majority of the plays.

Of course, the main topic of discussion has to be the quarterback battle. That's the talk of the town, and the preseason is going to be used to find out who deserves to start in Week 1. Aidan O'Connell started the game, and just kept things simple. He found his best receiver in Jakobi Meyers and didn't make any mistakes.

For him, though, he was just glad he didn't have to go against the Raiders defense again -- the best defense in the NFL.

"It's nice to face someone else for a change, after competing against our own team in camp and OTAs," O'Connell said in the locker room after the game.

Going against that defense every day should make the offense better. At least, that's what you would think. While this was just a preseason game, it seems that the defense has made the offense a bit better, because in the first half, when they were using players that will likely see the field every single game, they were rolling.
