After a mildly entertaining defeat to the Tennessee Titans in their preseason opener, the San Francisco 49ers welcome the New Orleans Saints to Levi's Stadium on Sunday.

It will mark the 49ers' only home game of the exhibition schedule. The game was supposed to follow joint practices between the two teams in Irvine, CA, but those have been canceled due to the number of injuries on the San Francisco side.

Quarterback Brock Purdy should play at least one series in this game, along with several other starters on both sides of the ball.

Thankfully for 49ers fans around the country, it will be very easy to watch Purdy's first appearance since Super Bowl 58.

    How to watch on TV

The game takes place at 8pm ET and will be nationally televised on Fox.

Kevin Burkhardt will be on the call for the game, with Tom Brady serving as the color announcer for only his second game in the booth.

    How to stream

In the US, NFL+ will be the place to go if you want to stream the game.

Internationally (excluding China), the game will be streamed on NFL Gamepass via DAZN.

While the contest obviously won't be anywhere as close to intense as a regular-season game, going against a Dennis Allen defense will be a nice way to knock the rust off for Purdy and company.

The game will also serve as a reunion for one member of the Saints coaching staff. Klint Kubiak was hired as the Saints' offensive coordinator this offseason, having previously served as the passing game coordinator for the 49ers.

Kubiak's brother Klay now occupies that role and was handed the play-calling duties by Kyle Shanahan for the game with the Titans.

It remains to be seen whether Shanahan will take a step back from play-calling for a second straight exhibition, though it doesn't seem likely.

"I have a lot of confidence in Klay, but it was one of the more boring things for me personally,” Shanahan said afterwards. "It the first game in 16 years not calling plays. I didn’t know what to do with my hands."

So perhaps lower your expectations of a Kubiak vs. Kubiak duel.
