One of Bo Nix's best throws for the Denver Broncos in his preseason debut wasn't even a completion

The Denver Broncos needed this first preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts to go well, for so many reasons, but none more than because of the quarterback battle that was being had in training camp. Sure, this was just a preseason game, but I think the Broncos may have figured out who their starting quarterback will be for the 2024 season.

All three guys were good. Jarrett Stidham started the game, made some decent throws, and threw an interception that wasn't his fault but ultimately couldn't get the ball in the end zone. Then Bo Nix, the rookie, came on, and man, he was great.

Nix was easily the best of the three quarterbacks on Sunday . He looked super comfortable, was poised under pressure, and just always made the right play. Nix was 15/21 throwing the ball, with 125 passing yards, and four scoring drives with two of them being touchdowns and two field goals.

I hate to say this, but that's about as perfect as it gets. And, while fans are watching all of his highlights, it's clear that they aren't even talking about the biggest thing. His first drive is really the only thing to nit-pick from, because he made a few throws that could have been intercepted, but they weren't. However, Bo Nix's best throw on the day was one that was actually incomplete, but it was an amazing throw that the wide receiver just didn't catch, came on the first drive.

With a red zone situation for Nix, he showed some more great ball placement, as he targeted Josh Reynolds in the back right corner of the end zone. As I said, he placed the ball perfectly, so there is no reason the ball shouldn't have been caught, but unfortunately, it went right through Reynolds' hands.

It was a thing of beauty, and it's plays like those that are even more of a reason to get hyped over the first game by Bo Nix. This kid is going to be good, and doing it in these new sweet Broncos uniforms felt cool to see as well.
