The Philadelphia Eagles may still be figuring out a disconnect between their head coach and quarterback, but at least they aren't the ones dealing with Haason Reddick's contract saga anymore .

The former Eagles' edge rusher, who has been holding out of training camp ,  requested a trade from the New York Jets on Monday afternoon.

Here's what NFL insider Jordan Schultz is reporting from what he's heard:

"The #Jets were informed before acquiring Haason Reddick that his contract needed to be addressed. They made an offer prior to the trade with Philly, which Reddick turned down. The team still went ahead with the trade without a deal in place. Reddick attended his press conference with the understanding that contract talks would continue, but I’m told no official proposal has been made since he joined the team in late March. That’s where things stand, and it’s why Reddick has not been with the team at minicamp or training camp — and why today’s trade request was made."

Reddick had been looking for a new contract when he was with the Birds, but when the two sides couldn't to an agreement, he was traded to the Jets in exchange for a 2026 conditional third-round pick.

ESPN adds that the Jets will not negotiate with a player unless he's at camp .

So far, Reddick has missed a total 21 days of training camp, which is a mandatory fine of $50,000 per day.

For now, the Jets do not plan on trading him.

"We have informed Haason that we will not trade him, that he is expected to be here with his teammates, and that he will continue to be fined per the CBA if he does not report," GM Joe Douglas said in a statement. "Since the trade discussions back in March we have been clear, direct, and consistent with our position. Our focus will remain on the guys we have here as we prepare for the regular season."

If for some reason he is traded, the Eagles will still get that 2026 third-round pick, but it will no longer become the second-round pick it could have been.

That's a bummer, but avoiding the contract drama and overpaying a 31-year-old edge might be a bigger win.

Stay tuned for more, Philly fans.
