Giants WR Jalin Hyatt sounds confident that WR Malik Nabers' training camp injury isn't serious after vague update from Brian Daboll

New York Giants fans got a scare this past weekend when rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers, the No. 6 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, suffered an ankle injury during practice.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll offered a vague update on Nabers on Monday, telling reporters that he doesn't think the ankle is "fractured".

Daboll danced around questions about whether or not Nabers had an MRI or an X-ray on the ankle.

Second year wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, a former Tennessee Vols standout who was selected in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, sounded a bit more confident that Nabers' injury isn't anything serious.

“That’s something you don’t want to see,” said Hyatt to the New York Daily News . “He’s gonna be fine. He’s gonna be alright. It wasn’t nothing major or anything. So he’ll be good. But you don’t wanna see that.”

“It’s practice, young guy, and he’s gonna be a key factor for us,” added Hyatt. “Seeing him go down, yeah, we were all kinda like, ‘Ohh.’ But he’s gonna be alright, though. He’ll be good.”

Hyatt had a huge day at Giants practice on Monday with Nabers sidelined.

Hyatt's had a tremendous training camp. He looks poised to have a breakout season in 2024. And the addition of Nabers should only help create more opportunities for Hyatt this fall.
