Hellmann's?
That's right. Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis has taken his love for mayonnaise to a whole new level by teaming up with Hellmann's to create his own scent dedicated to the eggy condiment: Will Levis No. 8.
And, in an unexpected twist, Hellmann's has actually created it under the company's own brand. You read that correctly - a mayo company has created its own perfume/cologne. It teamed up with an unknown perfumer in order to make sure things went as smooth as possible, per Levis via an article in Food & Wine.
“The Hellmann’s team worked closely with the perfumer to ensure that the fragrance was representative of me and what I can showcase on the football field," Levis said via email. “They went through several rounds of testing, and I think they did a really great job nailing it with the finished product.”
Hellmann's released a commercial starring Levis early Tuesday morning that falls in line with what we're used to seeing in cologne commercials. I don't think it can be chalked up as satire, but it's pretty damn funny, either way:
And yes, you can actually buy some . This isn't just for show. The above link in the tweet takes you to a full-fledged website dedicated to selling the product. It even has a detailed description that allows people to get a "taste" of what it smells like.
Will Levis No.8, Parfum de Mayonnaise opens with a bright burst of tart lemon that provides a refreshing and clean introduction. At the heart of the fragrance lies a creamy, daring mayonnaise accord offering a smooth and complex heart. Parsley adds a fresh herbal element, reminiscent of a well prepared dish. And of course, this fragrance would not be complete without subtle coffee undertones, reminiscent of Will’s signature mayonnaise infused caffeine beverage. A sensual musk base weaves through the composition, evoking physicality and charisma. Finally, we finish off with a comforting creamy vanilla finish that is equal parts inviting and intriguing.
30ml bottles are being sold for $8 a pop and there is no delivery fee.
Nissan Stadium may have quite the interesting aroma when the New York Jets come down to play on September 15.
