The New York Giants have had some injuries pop up on their offense over the past few days. First, Malik Nabers emerged from this weekend with a minor ankle issue. Now, another young offensive weapon is dealing with an ailment.

Rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. suffered an injury during Tuesday's practice.

Right after a promising preseason debut, the first-year player got injured during Tuesday’s practice and ended up carted off the field, according to ESPN’s Giants beat writer Jordan Raanan. Giants rookie RB Tyrone Tracy's injury not expected to be long-term

Ian Rapoport reports that tracy avoided a major injury. Instead, he has been diagnosed with a low ankle sprain. He's already back in team meetings, according to ESPN's Jordan Ranaan.

Tracy is in a walking boot and is considered week-to-week. That is a great update, considering the fear that his injury was season-ending prior to this most recent news.

The rookie running back is projected to have a notable role in his first year in the NFL. He and Devin Singletary headline the RB room for the Giants.

Tracy carried the ball five times and had 26 yards (5.2 yards per attempt) in the team's first preseason game last week. He looked fluid and confident out of the backfield. Fans and analysts took notice.

His rookie teammate, Malik Nabers, made sure to send his support to Tracy after practice.

"My prayers are going to be out to him, hopefully he has a speedy recovery so he can be back out there on the field."

You can tell that the situation regarding his departure from practice was a scare for all parties involved. Luckily, it sounds like he avoided the worst and will be available for New York sometime this season.
