Patrick Willis was enshrined in Canton this month, marking his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame with an emotional speech.

The former San Francisco 49ers linebacker will have another memorable day to mark his incredible career with the team in October.

It was announced on Wednesday that Willis will receive his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence on October 6.

The ceremony will take place during the 49ers' Week 5 clash with the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium.

Willis played eight seasons for the 49ers before injury forced him to call time on his career.

In that time, he was named to seven straight Pro Bowls between 2007 and 2013. He was a five-time first-team All-Pro who was also selected for the 2010s All-Decade team.

Willis never managed to capture the Super Bowl ring his career deserved, the 49ers coming up short in Super Bowl 47 against the Baltimore Ravens at the end of the 2012 season.

But this season will see him celebrate getting a ring in front of adoring 49ers fans, a fitting way to mark his incredible accomplishments with team and his achievement of making it to the Hall of Fame.
