It may be fair to say that in terms of personality, Antonio Pierce may be one of the most beloved head coaches of the Las Vegas Raiders ever. Then again, if we are talking about the Las Vegas Raiders, and not the Raiders as a whole, that's not hard to beat. Jon Gruden and Josh McDaniels can be pretty stern and bland at times.

But that's neither here nor there.

Antonio Pierce won the job because he won the fan base over along with the locker room. He told the fans what they wanted to hear and he gave them something to connect with. He is one of them and grew up one of them, so the fans love him.

And I mean come on, who doesn't love the guy just from listening to him talk? He makes you want to run through a brick wall, he makes you think in positive ways, and he makes you want to be better every day. That's what a coach should do.

The fan base is fired up about this season, and they have shown their love already. On Wednesday night when the Raiders opened up the doors to Allegiant Stadium for an open practice, Pierce felt the love, so he did the only thing he knows how to do when addressing the fans.

"RAAAAAAAAAAAAIDDDDDERRRRRRRRSSSS," Pierce yelled on the PA system.

If this ends up being a successful season by Pierce, this fan base won't know what to do. Not only would they finally have a successful season, but it would be with a guy like Pierce behind the wheel, and it doesn't get much better than that for the fan base.

Wednesday's practice was a huge success, as the Raiders saw north of 40 thousand people in attendance , which is more than half of the full capacity. Soon, they will suit up for the real thing. First, though, it's the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday after a loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Saturday.
