Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb channels inner Spider-Man with yet another cryptic message

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb hasn't shied away from posting cryptic (and not-so-cryptic) messages on social media amid contract negotiations with the team, including a viral post reading "lol. (laughing out loud)" in response to Jerry Jones' claim on not feeling urgency to get a deal done.

Heading into the preseason finale, Lamb took a similar route this week, this time uploading a story to his Instagram account showing Tobey Maguire's black suit Spider-Man from the third movie in the trilogy.

Naturally, the strange upload provided with no explanation has sent many fans into speculation mode trying to figure out what does it mean. Considering Lamb has rarely been active on social media all year, it might indeed carry relevancy.

Is it CeeDee suiting up for the 2024 season, indicating a deal is close? Or perhaps we should go deeper? Yes, get ready for some geek talk. Here we go!

In Spider-Man 3, Peter Parker's black suit is actually an alien symbiote and when it uses Parker as a "host," he starts to become somewhat evil and a little bit of a villain-slash-antihero.

Could Lamb be alluding at him becoming a villain amid negotiations with the Cowboys? Per the Dallas Morning News , the Cowboys recently offered Lamb a deal worth less than $33 million per year, which would be significantly under Justin Jefferson's $35M average.

If the receiver took the offer as a show of disrespect (which should be the case unless the guaranteed money made up for it), he might be preparing to play hardball at the negotiating table.

What we do know is that the Cowboys are 20 days away from kicking off their 2024 regular season and Lamb hasn't spent any time with the team during the offseason/preseason program.
