Arguably, the biggest free agent acquisition made by the Indianapolis Colts this offseason was former Miami Dolphins DT Raekwon Davis.

Due to his high blood pressure, he's spent all of training camp to date on the Active/Non-Football illness list. That was until today, at least, when the Colts announced that they had removed Davis from the NFI list.

The Colts signed Davis this offseason to a two-year contract worth $14 million. Prior to signing with Indianapolis, Davis spent the first four years of his career with the Miami Dolphins, who drafted him with the 56th pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

His calling card in the NFL has been his ability as a run defender. During his time with the Dolphins, he appeared in 63 games and recorded 129 total tackles. He will most likely slide right into the backup nose tackle role behind Grover Stewart. This position struggled last season and has continued during training camp this year. The team is hoping Davis gives them a much-needed boost in that area. He will only have one practice session and a preseason game before the Colts will have to cut down their roster on Tuesday, August 27. Fortunately for Davis, no one has been able to grab the reins at his job during his absence.
