Can Triple H lure Kevin Durant to join the WWE? Anything is possible these days. But for now, the former Texas star gladly holds aloft a UT-inspired championship belt presented by the WWE leader.

Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the chief content officer at the WWE, presented Durant with a burnt-orange championship belt during Fanatics Fest on Sunday at the Javits Center in New York.

“I always wanted one of these,” Durant said, his eyes wide with amazement.

Levesque said, “You got your own now.”

“It’s even got that burnt orange on there, too,” Durant said. “I’m hanging this up ASAP.”

Durant was in New York to take part in fan activities, and several WWE superstars were on hand to promote the entertainment company.

WWE has previously announced multiple school-themed championship belts that are being distributed around the country. Other belts styled to honor Alabama, Notre Dame and Michigan are also available.

Durant should bring the belt back to Austin during the NBA season when the Phoenix Suns arrive at Moody Center. The Suns will play the San Antonio Spurs at the Longhorns’ arena on Feb. 20, 2025, according to the new NBA schedule.

Durant played at Texas only during the 2006-07 season, averaged 25.8 points and 11.1 rebounds in 35 games and was the Naismith Award winner for being the national player of the year. The 14-time NBA All-Star has made numerous trips back to Austin over the years.
