The New Orleans Saints have some notable expectations for 2024. Dennis Allen needs to get his team back to the postseason. That being said, how many Saints fans believe that New Orleans is a true Super Bowl contender? It does not seem to be many with Derek Carr under center and a questionable offensive line unit.
Even then, one former Atlanta Falcons quarterback thinks that Saints fans are using blind faith to hold outrageous confidence in this year's team. He thinks some of them are just delusional .
Kurt Benkert goes off on 2024 Saints and their fans
Benkert notes that he sees one singular win on their schedule for 2024.

To be low on the Saints this year is one thing, but to say there's one win on this schedule - that's another story.
Firstly, they play in one of the weakest divisions in football in the NFC South. Regardless of records, games in the division normally remain tight.
New Orleans is a much more talented roster than the Carolina Panthers, and you can argue that their roster is fairly similar to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in terms of overall talent. The Falcons have probably edged out both of those squads with moves made this offseason, but they have to put it all together with plenty of new pieces.
It's incredibly difficult to see New Orleans coming out victorious in only one matchup after winning nine games against a similar schedule a season ago. That's common sense. Plus, they improved their defensive line and offensive play-caller for the upcoming season.
There's remaining questions about depth for the Saints, but this disrespect is a bit comical. Benkert does say that he could see up to four wins for New Orleans this season, but that ceiling is too limited, too. That's closer to the floor for them.
The former QB projected the Saints to win two games in a recent social media post with NFL-wide standings.
Benkert also explains that Saints fans pretend that Derek Carr is Drew Brees.
No, that's not a joke. I'm not sure how many Saints fans he's had a QB discussion with, but it cannot be many if he truly believes that. Just an inference filled with blasphemy.
Benkert also said last week that he thought the Saints would be the worst team in football this season. He's already swapped that belief. Now, he has the Los Angeles Chargers and New England Patriots as the bottom two teams - with New Orleans in third to worst.
We'll see how much his takes change in the next week of preseason football as well.
Keep in mind that his timeline over the past couple of weeks has been filled with positivity for the division rival Falcons, too. He's incredibly high on them in 2024.
All in all, the video from Benkert is a bunch of mindless ranting about a team that he probably did not like too much during his playing days - even if those were limited.
