The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the cause of plenty of discourse since losing on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills.

A team that has yet to score a TD with their first-team offense, plenty has been made of both the QB and offensive line situation in Pittsburgh.

One of the people who had a bevy of things to say about what Pittsburgh has shown thus far, was perhaps the most famous person in sports talk, Stephen A. Smith.

Let's just say he wasn't happy, predicting the team to accomplish a feat they want no part of:

Stephen A. Sounds Off On Steelers

“Let me tell you something right now. The Steelers looked awful offensively. They looked absolutely awful," Stephen A Smith said on Monday's First Take . "I’m very, very disgusted with what I saw. Let’s get that out of the way first. Secondly, I get where Shay-Shay [Shannon Sharpe] is coming from in terms of starting Russell Wilson. That was certainly my thought process. I’m not sure how sold I am on that right now. I understand he’s had the calf injury and stuff like that. I get that reality...

"...I get all of that, but I’m looking at Russell Wilson and I’m saying, this is why the Denver Broncos didn’t want him. I don’t want to hear anything about the calf injury. Are you still holding onto the ball too long? Yeah, that was the problem. And so I’m just looking at it from that standpoint, Shannon, and I’m not enthused. I know that the AFC North is no joke...

“…I don’t want to ever, and I’ve never said this before because I believe in Mike Tomlin so much, but the Steelers have last place written all over them. Shay, they got last place written all over them. I don’t see how they get out of this.”

Now if you're wondering when was the last time that the Steelers finished at the bottom of the AFC North, the answer is: Never.

The last time Pittsburgh finished last in its division was in 1988 as a member of the AFC Central.

And to play devil's advocate, there is a first time for everything, and if you're forecasting off the preseason alone, it's not a bad bet.

But you would think that by now, even in an overreaction-based environment, we would know to take what you see in the preseason with a grain of salt.

Kenny Pickett and co. were lighting up defenses in the preseason last year and looking like the second coming of the Greatest Show on Turf .

How did that translate to the regular season?

Oh yeah, that's right, OC Matt Canada was fired at the midway point and Kenny Pickett was traded after effectively being benched for Mason Rudolph.

So if we should learn anything, it's that the preseason is a facade. That's not to say Pittsburgh's offense has looked good or doesn't bear concern, but to predict the team to finish last in the division when Arthur Smith hasn't unveiled the offense, Pittsburgh hasn't named a starting QB and there is still a potential trade to be made at the WR position is quite rich.

So take a deep breath, everyone. If the offense is bad, you will know, and you will know quickly, as Pittsburgh travels to Atlanta to take on the Falcons in less than three weeks.
