The Kansas City Chiefs are almost to the finish line of the 2024 NFL preseason as they wrap things up with a Week 3 tilt against the Chicago Bears. It's the second game of a four combined preseason and regular season home stretch at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Starters will sit this game out according to Chiefs HC Andy Reid , but that doesn't make this game any less valuable. Those fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster have a major opportunity to stand out in a good way or a bad way.
There are plenty of ways to watch/stream the game and not miss a moment of the action on Thursday.

The game kicks off at 7:20 p.m. CT on Thursday, August 22. Ari Wolfe and Trent Green will be on the call. If you're in the Kansas City area, the game will be locally broadcast on KSHB-TV (NBC/41). The game will be nationally broadcast on NFL Network ( along with every other Chiefs preseason game this season ). The game can also be streamed live via the NFL's "NFL+" subscription service if you're not in the local broadcast market. You can watch on local stations in the following markets, per 506sports :

    • KMOV (CBS/4 - St. Louis)
    • WIBW (CBS/13 - Topeka KS)
    • KWCH (CBS/12 - Wichita KS)
    • KOZL (My/27 - Springfield MO)
    • KODE (ABC/12 - Joplin MO)
    • KQFX (FOX/22 - Columbia MO)
    • KMTV (CBS/3 - Omaha)
    • KDSM (FOX/17 - Des Moines IA)
    • KNWA (NBC/51 - Fayetteville AR)
    • KAUU (CBS/5 - Anchorage AK)

If you're in the Chicago area, WFLD (FOX/32) will carry the game locally. Adam Amin and Jim Miller will be on the call in that market.

Weather report and other notable details about preseason Week 3

It won't quite be the scorcher it was at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium last week. Thursday calls for partly cloudy skies with a high of 81 degrees and little to no chance of precipitation. Winds could help cool players on the field as the sun goes down in the evening, with a low of 61 degrees expected at night.

The Bears, like the Chiefs, are not expected to play their starters in preseason Week 3. That's not a big surprise, even though it'd be quite fun to see Caleb Williams and Patrick Mahomes face off in a game.

Typically, when the Chiefs carry four quarterbacks on the offseason roster, the final preseason game will be reserved for the two who are battling for that third spot (typically on the practice squad). That means, Carson Wentz, the Chiefs' No. 2 quarterback, could sit this week along with Patrick Mahomes, even if he's not viewed as a starter. Look for Chris Oladokun to get the first half of the game, and Ian Book to get a chance to properly close out a game in the second half on Thursday.
